We’re thrilled to highlight the establishment of the Holliston diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) Policy Advisory Committee (PAC), a critical step in making our town more inclusive and equitable. This committee stems from Holliston’s 5-Year Strategic Plan, which prioritizes fostering DEI across town policies, workplaces, and communities.
The PAC’s mission is clear: to evaluate town policies and procedures through a DEI lens and recommend improvements to ensure fairness and equity. With an annual review cycle and accountability measures, including reports to town departments and the public, the PAC aims to create lasting change.
The committee will be composed of seven residents appointed by various town bodies, ensuring representation across diverse identities and experiences. Members will receive training on town governance, empowering them to tackle systemic inequities thoughtfully and effectively.
While the PAC’s recommendations are advisory, we believe its work will spark vital conversations and actions to build a more welcoming community for all. At Diverse Holliston, we encourage residents to engage with the PAC and support its efforts to make our town a beacon of inclusion.
