In honor of International Day Against Homophobia, Biophobia, and Transphobia, Diverse Holliston is proud to present an event focused on truth-telling, empathy, and connection: “Mythbusters Forum w/ Q&A: Real Talk About LGBTQ+ Identities.”

Join us for this important conversation on Saturday, May 17, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the Holliston Parks and Recreation Building, Goodwill Room.

About the Event

This forum offers a safe and supportive space to engage in real dialogue. Members of our local queer community will share their experiences and answer your questions about LGBTQ+ identities — all in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

Topics we’ll explore include:

  • Basic LGBTQ+ terminology… what all of those letters mean!
  • Gender and sports
  • Sex vs. gender vs. sexual orientation
  • Gender Presentation vs. Gender Identity
  • Parenting
  • Lived experiences
  • …and much more

Everyone is encouraged to bring questions, curiosity, and an open heart. This is an opportunity to listen, learn, and deepen understanding — whether you’re a parent, educator, student, neighbor, or ally.

Why It Matters

Holding this forum on May 17, a date recognized worldwide as International Day Against Homophobia, Biophobia, and Transphobia, reinforces the importance of standing against discrimination and misinformation. By creating spaces for education and honest conversation, we move closer to a truly inclusive and supportive community.
