Schools
Diverse Holliston is working with the Holliston Public Schools to promote a climate in which students learn about and respect those who are different from them. We do this by building relationships and accountability within school leadership to develop academic curriculum with a lens of inclusion and anti-racism, develop strategies to address hate speech and identity based bullying, and build capacity with school leadership to grow understanding and application of DEI.
SCHOOLS INITIATIVES
Equity Audit committee
Representation on the committee chaired by Jariel Vergne to address the gaps highlighted by the HPS 2023 equity audit.
Coalition Against Hate and Bias
Representation on the committee chaired by the town of Holliston and HPS superintendent to address hate in the Holliston community
Student DEI leadership
Partnering with students in HPS who are interested in working from within their schools to push DEI initiatives among student groups and in the classroom.
School Committee
Collaboration and relationship building with school committee members to increase their capacity to lead with a lens of DEI in policy and in practices. Following weekly posted agenda and attending meetings as needed.
PTO & SEPAC
Collaboration and relationship building with the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) to enhance our reach for DEI programming within the HPS community. Attending meetings as needed.
